I have purchased a number of these mugs mostly because of their beautiful 'design' - they make the perfect gift. However from a functionality point of view - particularly when the beverage is hot - the lid does not close but continues to swivel. I burnt my chest quite badly the other day whilst drinking coffee in bed as the lid just 'popped' off and the coffee spilt all over me. A crossplate filter with molded silicon has failed. Ordered new and after quite a wait,(backordered), I received a new one that was redesigned. A good design but was sent to me incomplete, without the silicone ring that provides the seal. Contacted through email, sent the photo and no reply. Decided to call, not much help. I have purchased 36 cups from Myer 18 months ago, 12 for everyday use and 24 use when we are going to have a party . All my 12 cups for everyday use lost the silicone and looks terrible I am very disappointed with quality of this product , never going to buy this product again and recommend this product to my family and friends

I had 2 tea pots in a last year and a half and both were cracked by hot water( I was sure this is ment to be for brewing tea with hot water?). Called customer service - rude and disrespectful. Don't buy Bodum! The price does not reflect the quality! My beaker had a minor crack after coming out of the dishwasher. I proceeded to use it with the usual plunge. Hot coffee squeezed through the cracks and I experienced minor scalding (aloe was the remedy). I honestly did not know that you can't use a beaker under these conditions; and there was no warning on the beaker. I contacted customer service and they requested pictures of the beaker. This was given as a gift in March 2015. The handle fell off in mid-February 2016. The warranty is supposed to be a year. I took a photo and sent the information to Bodum. They wrote back and said it would only be covered if I had the original proof of purchase. I contacted their Customer Service twice about a replacement part that is not available for purchase. No answer. I ended up buying a part that might fit, but didn't. I just received a Bodum French Press coffee maker as a gift and after 2 uses the glass cracked. I quickly checked their web site concerning the warranty and noted that it specifically excludes glass. Needless to say my first encounter with a Bodum product wasn't favorable. There's no way I'm going to replace the broken carafe. The replacement part is $18 plus $7.95 shipping and handling. My one year old Bodum Bistro Pour Over Coffee Machine stopped working, so I contacted Bodum to see about a warranty replacement.
